This policy covers 220junk.ca and everything we do with the information you give us when you contact us, ask for an estimate, or book work. It applies to 1545961 B.C. LTD., operating as 220-JUNK, referred to below as "we," "us" and "our."
We handle personal information under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act.
220-JUNK is a family owned junk removal company, established in 1988, working across Metro Vancouver from 9040 Blundell Road in Richmond. We remove junk from homes and businesses and we rent bins.
Questions about anything in this policy go to hello@220junk.ca or (604) 220-5865.
When you fill in a form on this site, we receive your name, phone number, email address, the city you are in, the service you asked about, whatever you write in the details field, and a record of which page you submitted from.
When you call or text us, we receive your phone number along with whatever you tell us about the job.
When you send photos or video so we can prepare an estimate, we receive those images and anything visible in them. A photo taken on a phone can carry the place and time it was taken inside the file, and that travels with the image unless your device is set to remove it.
When we do work for you, we keep the service address, the date, a description of what we removed, and the invoice and payment records that go with it.
This site records the pages you visit, when you visited and for how long, the site or advertisement that sent you here, an approximate location worked out from your IP address, and your device, browser and operating system. That information arrives through cookies and similar identifiers, and it reaches us in aggregate rather than attached to your name.
We do not take payment through this website, so no card numbers or banking details are collected on it.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not rent or trade contact lists.
Submitting a form, calling us, or booking work is your consent for us to use your information for the purposes in section 3.
You can withdraw consent for marketing messages whenever you like. Reply STOP to any text from us, use the unsubscribe link in any email, or write to hello@220junk.ca. That does not stop us contacting you about work you have already booked, and it does not remove invoice and tax records we are required to hold.
Withdrawing consent for the information we need to do the job itself means we may not be able to give you an estimate or carry out the work.
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. We use third-party analytics and advertising services to measure how this site is used and to deliver and measure our advertising, and those services set their own cookies and identifiers and receive information about your visit.
Where you give us your email address or phone number, we may share it with advertising platforms in an irreversible scrambled form, so that they can match you to advertising we have run and build audiences of people who resemble our customers. We do not share readable contact details for advertising, and we do not sell personal information.
We share personal information with the companies whose systems we run the business on, and only for what those systems do. They are bound to use it for that purpose and no other. We also share contact details with advertising platforms in the scrambled form described in section 5.
Some of these providers store and process information on servers outside Canada, where it is subject to the laws of that country.
We also disclose information where the law requires it, in answer to a valid legal demand, or where it is needed to establish or defend a legal claim. If the business is ever sold or merged, customer records would move with it, and we would tell you before that happened.
We keep customer and job records for as long as we need them for the purposes in section 3, and then for the period Canadian tax and business records law requires. Enquiries that never turn into work are kept for a shorter period, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time. Analytics records sit with our analytics providers under their own retention settings rather than with us.
This site is served over an encrypted connection, and form submissions travel encrypted to our customer system. Access to customer records is limited to the people who need it for their work, and each of them signs in under their own account. No system is immune from compromise, and we cannot promise that information sent over the internet is completely secure.
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, what we have used it for, and who we have given it to. You can ask us to correct anything inaccurate, and you can ask us to delete information we are not required to keep.
Write to hello@220junk.ca and we will answer within thirty days. We may ask you to confirm who you are first, so that we do not hand your records to somebody else. In limited cases the law lets us withhold information, and where that applies we will tell you why.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, tell us first at hello@220junk.ca and we will look into it. You can also complain to either of the offices below.
This site is meant for adults arranging junk removal, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under sixteen. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
Some pages link to sites we do not run, including our business listing and our social media accounts. Their privacy practices are their own, and this policy does not cover them.
We update this policy when what we do with information changes. The date at the top tells you which version you are reading. Where a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will tell you directly.
